Apple’s executive page was updated today to remove the mention of “online stores” from retail chief Angela Ahrendts’ title, reflecting recent changes to Apple’s position. Ahrendts’ new title simply reads Senior Vice President Retail.
While there’s no real change in Ahrendts’ role it does reflect Apple’s recent changes to its retail and online experiences. From what I can gather, the role merges both retail and online retail operations into one, with no changes in her responsibilities.
More likely, the role name change could be a part of a larger revamping of Apple’s retail store branding. In August, the company dropped the word “store” from its “Apple Store” retail listings.
In certain scenarios Apple still uses the “Apple Store” branding, but overall all retail locations have completely dropped the “store” branding.
