Apple Pay Officially Launches In France

At WWDC 2016, Apple announced that it would be expanding its Apple Pay mobile payments service to France, and now the company has fulfilled the promise and is now live in the country. With the addition of France, Apple Pay is now available in 8 countries.

Apple Pay is supported by Visa and MasterCard credit and debit cards from Banque Populaire, Carrefour Banque, Ticket Restaurant, and Caisse d’Epargne in France, with support for Boon and Orange coming soon.

Apple Pay works in-store on iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone SE, and the Apple Watch. The feature is also available in-app on the iPad mini 4, iPad Air 2, and both of the iPad Pro models.

As announced at WWDC, Hong Kong and Spain are still on the Apple Pay roadmap, slated for later this year. Additional banks will be supported for all countries, as expected.
