Today, Apple has become the first US company to donate to China aid efforts following the mass flooding that’s been happening in the country since June. This has affected over 30 million people across 500 cities, leaving 164 dead.
While one million dollars may seem little in comparison to Apple’s total business, the donation will significantly help China. In addition, Apple is currently the only U.S. company that is helping China. Apple CEO Tim Cook took to Chinese social media site Wiebo to acknowledge this.
Apple is the first U.S. company that has donated to CFPA in this year’s flood, said the organization on its website. The group says it will work closely with Apple to make sure the money is best applied.
