Apple Releases OS X 10.11.5 Update To The Public

Alongside iTunes 12.4, Apple has released a minor update for OS X El Capitan, 10.11.5. The update focuses on stability, compatibility, and security improvements.

Updates to iOS, watchOS, and tvOS were also released today.

While the update doesn’t change any user facing features or interfaces, it’s recommended for all users. After all, these “under the hood” improvements will lead to a better and more secure experience, which although unnoticeable, is always beneficial.

Those hoping for a larger update with new features will likely have to wait until Apple’s WWDC keynote on June 13 to see what OS X (or macOS?) 10.12 will have to offer. The next major version of the Mac operating system will likely be released this fall.
