Following the Apple Pay in Canada rollout from earlier this month, BOM, TD, and Scotiabank will be supporting the mobile payment service beginning this Wednesday. With the additional three banks, we’ll be seeing the “major five banks” in Canada on board starting tomorrow (via The Toronto Star).
More specifically, TD Canada Trust will be supporting Visa, MasterCard, and Interac, Visa and Interac at Scotiabank, and Interac and MasterCard at BMO.
Apple Pay technically launched in Canada last year, partnering up with American Express which is typically not tied to specific banks. Earlier this month, Apple was able to capture the two major banks in Canada, with these three listed as “coming soon” on Apple’s website.
Apple Pay is available in-store on iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone SE, and Apple Watch, and is supported in-app with any iPad sporting a Touch ID sensor.
