IPad Family Grows With 9.7″ IPad Pro, With True Tone Display

After months of rumors and leaks, Apple’s 9.7″ iPad Pro has confirmed by Apple’s announcement at today’s event.

The new 9.7″ iPad Pro weighs less than 1 pound, exactly identical to the weight of iPad Air 2.

The True Tone display of the 9.7″ iPad Pro is similar to that of the larger iPad Pro, with lower reflectivity, higher brightness, a variable refresh rate, and a wider color gamut. However, this display goes further by sensing and matching the ambient light temperature, giving the display a very natural appearance in any environment.

The 9.7″ iPad Pro comes with iPhone 6s quality cameras, sporting a 12MP rear camera with True Tone flash (and a camera bump). The front facing camera is 5MP, with True Tone Retina Flash.

Of course, the 9.7″ iPad Pro is compatible with Apple Pencil. It’s also compatible with an appropriately sized Smart Keyboard, priced at $149. The Smart Cover costs $49, and the Silicone Case costs $69.

The 9.7″ iPad Pro comes in 32GB from $599, 128GB from $749, and 256GB from $899. Cellular models for each size cost $130 more. The 12.9 inch iPad Pro now comes with a 256GB storage option as well.

The 9.7″ iPad Pro will be available for pre-order on March 24, and released on March 31.
