NFC-Enabled IPhone Case From Incipio Now Available At Verizon

Incipio has brought NFC to the iPhone in the form of its Cashwrap case for iPhone. Using this case, you can access the ISIS mobile payment system that many of the larger US carriers are behind, with AT&T announcing recently that it would carry the case. Verizon, not wanting to be left behind, announced that it too would be carrying the case so that its customers can get in on the fun, too.

ISIS is a Google Wallet competitor that is backed by many of the major wireless players as well as credit card companies. “Isis Mobile Wallet for Verizon” is an app now available in the App Store so that Big Red subscribers can take advantage of the case after picking one up (presumably at a VZW store).

The app is free, and, if you download it and activate a new American Express Serve account you can get $10, as well as $10 more for your first tap-to-pay at Verizon:

To celebrate the national launch of the new Isis Mobile Wallet, Verizon Wireless customers will receive $10 when they download Isis Mobile Wallet and activate a new American Express Serve Account, as well as an additional $10 after their first tap-to-pay transaction at a Verizon Wireless location.

If you’re a Verizon customer and wish to pick this up, you can check it out online here: Verizon. If you’re on that other carrier – err, AT&T – you can check it out on its site here: AT&T. I’m not sure how I would feel about the bulk, but other than that the idea seems really cool.

What do you think? Do you think you’ll pick this up? Do you wish Apple would just put NFC into the iPhone? Let us know in the comments
