KickStarter has become a hotbed of awesome iPhone accessories for the past year or so, and it looks as though that trend may well continue for a little time yet. Meet the myType keyboard, a physical keyboard so slim you can fold it up and put it in your pocket.
Anyone who knows me knows I love physical keyboards, and prefer them much more than virtual ones. And yet, finding a physical keyboard that works well as a portable solution for the iPhone has always been a challenge.
Either go with something like the Nuu MiniKey which attaches to your iPhone as a case and has a slide-out horizontal keyboard or bring a full-scale keyboard with you everywhere. Neither is an ideal solution.
That’s where myType comes in. When it’s closed, it measures in at 6.8″ x 3.6″ x 0.35″ (172 x 91.4 x 8.9 mm), features Bluetooth 3.0, a battery which runs for weeks and a range of 33 feet.
The material is also very flexible and durable, so it should just about handle the daily grind. So not only is it incredibly durable and portable, when it’s opened up, its keys are also much larger and better spaced out than most other iPhone specific keyboards.
