IPad Leads The Way In Online Commerce Traffic

Is this news really any surprise? If so, it shouldn’t be. Yet another year, and yet again another chart saying the iPad leads in online commerce traffic. Sure, it dropped a few points, but in the grand scheme of things, those points aren’t very much.

Almost 9 of every 10 users that visit an e-commerce site are doing some from an iPad. Android tablets took the largest chunk of Apple’s astounding share year-over-year, while Amazon’s Kindle line lost some ground. Not only do iPad users browse the most though, their orders are usually more expensive, however not by near the same margin:

This information stems from a random sample of over 500 million online shoppers that are visiting the sites of companies such as Best Buy, Frontier Airlines, Aeropostale, The Sports Authority, and PETCO.

As you can see, when it comes to the “traditional” computer, Apple users again tend to spend more, however on smartphones, Android users spend on average $0.11 more.
