GarageBand for iOS just got what is probably it’s most important update yet. Version iOS 1.4 was released with a host of new features, most notably support for third party app, Audiobus.
The app, developed by A Tasty Pixel, allows users to use other audio apps in conjunction with GarageBand. Apps such as Futulele, Amplitube, Figure plus a whole host of other popular musical apps (full list here). It opens up a a great number of new possibilities for home musicians.
Some other improvements from the App Store description:
• Play and record music apps supported by Audiobus directly into GarageBand*
• Turn off grid snapping to get finer control over region and note editing
• Fixes an issue that resulted in feedback while connecting 3rd-party audio accessories into the headphone/microphone jack
All in all, it looks like a rather tasty app update, and one which I’m sure will go down well with Boyce Avenue wannabes everywhere. Download GarageBand for iOS at AppStore.com/GarageBand.
