Do you remember the “rollover” ads put out by Cingular a while ago? The ones that stated that the network would allow users to roll over their unused minutes from one month to the next? Well, a carrier is finally bringing that back, and making it better.
FreedomPop, a carrier that uses Sprint’s wireless network, is bringing back the old “rollover” days, and is applying it to data! That’s right, if you don’t use all of your data one month, you can carry it over and use it the next month.
This is great for someone that only uses lots of data rarely. This way, if they need a lot of data one month, they can depend on their rolled over extra data. The carrier’s deal is available to all customers now.
FreedomPop is not your traditional carrier, however. The company is known for it’s iPod touch cases that allow the device to access WiMax networks, and it is currently in the process of rolling out LTE. The company also has a case for the iPhone 4 and 4S in the works, so the wireless provider could be growing soon.
Do you think this “rollover” idea should be applied to more carriers? Does this make you want to consider FreedomPop for your next provider? Use the comments section to let us know!
