Analyst Apple IPad Outsold Microsoft’s Surface By 20-To-1 Over The Holidays

Despite teenagers (allegedly) stating that Microsoft’s Surface is cooler than the iPad, sales figures show that way more people voted on Apple’s side with their wallets. According to some recent analysis by UBS analyst, Brent Thill, only 1 million Surfaces were sold during Q4 of 2012.

That’s only 5% of the estimated iPad sales for the same period. It’s hardly surprising, as views from opposing Microsoft and Apple stores over the holidays indicated that Cupertino’s products were far more popular.

In fact, even when thieves broke in to Microsoft’s campus, they left without stealing a single Windows’ device, opting for the company iPads instead. I’m guessing, right now, Windows’ chiefs are wishing business success was measured in teenage cool points.
