40 Million Photos Uploaded To Instagram Each Day, 90 Million Active Users
Instagram has just announced some milestone figures for its photo-sharing service, which started its life as an iPhone-only app. It has now surpassed the 90 million active users line, who between them upload 40 million photos a day. In an statement to AllThingsD, co-founder Kevin Systrom said:
“Instagram continues to see very strong growth around the world. With many of the product and internationalization improvements we’ve made, we’ve been excited to see these efforts resonate with users globally.”
There’s more too: an incredible 8,500 likes and 1,000 comments per second. Which ever way you look at it, it shows that the social network is thriving despite its controversial wobble earlier this month. Maybe all press is good press after all.
