Confirmed Facebook Will “Eventually” Monetize Instagram

Way back in April, Facebook bought Instagram, the massively popular picture sharing social network, for a cool $1 billion. Since then, the links between Twitter and Instagram have slowly crumbled, and today, Instagram has cut off Twitter cards integration, meaning Instagram photos will no longer be displayed directly in the Twitter timeline.

Because of this, we can now expect to see a lot of non-optimized Instagram photos on our Twitter timelines, something that I’d imagine will annoy many avid Twitter users.

Don’t expect photo sharing on Twitter to die though, as the social network is currently testing out its own filters for photo uploads, according to several reports floating around the interwebs.
