It’s fair to say, I have a bit of an obsession with iPhone cases. I’ve got so many lying around, I never know which to put on my iPhone. Mostly, what I like about each one is its design, or the way it feels.

Most are either there to protect my phone, or make it look unique. The Coyote Case is vastly different. It’s a case designed for the iPhone 4, 4S and 5 that protects the user if someone tries to attack, mug or – dare I say it – rape them. It contains a secret weapon: an ear-piercing 100+ decibel alarm.

The creator, Jonathan Page, created it after hearing a horror story from his niece about an attack on her school campus grounds.

He decided that there must be a better, more convenient way to carry around a personal alarm without having to carry something extra, and difficult to find in your purse. So, he designed an iPhone case with an inbuilt alarm system that activates at a push of a button. Check the promo video below:

Not only is the case an alarm, it’s very rugged and pairs with your device via Bluetooth direct to a bespoke app that alerts nearby emergency contacts with your location when the alarm goes off.

The case isn’t on the market yet, but you can help it get there by heading over to the project’s crowd funding page on Indiegogo. You can pledge/”claim perks” from as low as $2 all the way up to $10,000 depending on your desire to see this make it to our store shelves and how deep your pockets are.

What are your thoughts? Would you carry around a personal alarm if it was built in to an iPhone case? Do you carry one already?
