New IPhone 5 Leak Shows Display Unit Fully Assembled
This past month has been incredible in terms of leaks. We’ve seen so many different parts of what sources claim are components from the next gen iPhone. I have to say, the more I see them and the more frequently they show up, the more I’m starting to believe that this could be the “iPhone 5″. Still not 100% convinced, but again, the cynic in me never will be until Apple announces it officially.
The most recent comes from smartphone repairers, UBREAKIFIX.com (via MacRumors), and shows the front panel that we’ve seen countless times before. The big difference in this leak is that is shows the actual display digitizer and the rest of the screen fully assembled.
If this is a genuine part – and it’s becoming more likely that it is – the 6th generation iPhone will have a 4″ display, and a similar pixel density to the current screen. The main difference is that it’s a 16:9 aspect ratio, not 3:2 like the current one. Essentially we’ll see 640 pixels horizontally (like the iPhone 4/4S) but vertically we’ll have 1,136 pixels versus the current 960.
