SecureTips Keeps Your Apple Earphones In Your Ears

Recently it seems like some of the best Apple accessories are coming from small startups on Kickstarter, rather than big-name manufacturers. Continuing with that trend, I want to tell you guys about a really cool project called SecureTips.

It’s no secret that Apple’s earphones leave much to be desired, and the guys behind SecureTips are taking a unique approach to solve the problems. Instead of creating an expensive, redesigned set of headphones, SecureTips actually redesign your current headphones for a fraction of the cost!

These tiny, silicon pieces slip right onto the earphone of the standard Apple headphones and actually reshape the earpiece, adding a wave-like bit of silicon that’s ergonomically designed to fit snuggly in your ear. They don’t tear or stretch and don’t add ten pounds of audio equipment to your head. This idea is really simple, but kind of brilliant.

They come in a number of colors, and each kit comes with three different sizes of SecureTips to ensure that you have the best-fitting headphones possible. Currently the project has about $3,000 of its $50,000 goal, with about a month left to reach it.

If you’d like to help this product get made, you can pledge as little as five dollars, but if you donate twenty, you get your very own SecureTips kit.

For more information, check out the video above to see the SecureTips in action and hear the creators discuss their product. On a related note, the creator in the green shirt may or may not be Seth Rogan. It probably isn’t, though. Or is it?!

Could you see yourself using this product? I definitely could!
