Rumor Apple To Sell 30-Pin To 19-Pin Adapter For New IPhone

We just talked about the iPhone’s dock connecter earlier today, and here is some pleasing news to go along with it. A report from iMore is saying that Apple will be releasing an adapter alongside the new iPhone that should allow users to connect the device to current generation accessories that take advantage of the 30-pin dock connecter.

iMore reached out to the original sources that gave us the new Dock connector story way back in February just to make doubly sure — and yes, there will be an adapter for the iPhone 5′s smaller Dock connector that will let it work with many of the accessories designed for the old 30-pin Dock connector.

They did not learn of whether Apple would include said adapter in the box or not, but with the reputation Apple has, it may become a separate purchase.

This rumor follows along with the one mentioned earlier from Reuters, who back the new 19-pin rumors that have been showing up since early this year. The new iPhone is expected to launch this October just as last year’s did.

What do you think? Should they include one of these rumored accessories in the box? Will they even make one, or drop the 30-pin completely and forget about it? Let us know in the comments.
