IOS 5.1 Patches Corona Untethered Jailbreak: Update To 5.0.1 Before It’s Too Late!
As you all know, Pod2G and his team has been keeping extremely busy, working on an untethered jailbreak for all A5 iDevices running iOS 5.0.1. Up until this point, it has been unknown as to whether their jailbreak will work on devices running iOS 5.1, but with the developer released version of iOS 5.1 beta 3, it is now confirmed that the update does indeed patch the security hole which was allowing the 5.0.1 jailbreak. This patch also applies to all A4 devices too.
What does this mean? Well, it basically means that if you update to iOS 5.1 beta 3, or later versions of the firmware, your device will be rendered ‘unjailbreakable’ or ‘sterile’. At this point, there is no jailbreak for iOS 5.1, and it is very unlikely that we will see one anytime in the foreseeable future.
So if you haven’t already done so, be sure that you update to iOS 5.0.1 while you still can. There’s no reason not to, as the current jailbreak for A4 and A5 devices is supported on this firmware.
I would like to know, how many of you guys are running a jailbroken iOS? If you are, what version are you running? Would you be willing to give up your jailbroken features to enable the few extra features iOS 5.1 has to offer? Let me know in the comments below, or on Facebook.
