The Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Android’s latest attempt to release an iPhone killer with a pure Google experience has been tested. Benchmark tests were performed to compare browser performance as well as GPU capability.
The Android powerhouse bests the latest iPhone in browser benchmarks, meaning that page loading speeds should be quicker in day-to-day use. I have to say, from personal use of the Nexus, the browser is pretty zippy.
That being said, the iPhone wins the GPU game. The games processing unit outshines the Samsung’s Imagination Technologies PowerVR SGX 540 GPU. So, if you’re a serious mobile gamer, iDevices are the way to go right now. For a really great experience, the iPad 2 is the winner, and with that 9.7″ display, games like Real Racing 2 really shine.
What’s most important to you? Is the day-to-day speediness of a web browser most important to you? Or, would you prefer smooth-running graphically intense gaming?
