Now that AT&T’s exclusive contract will be ending, many rumors have been flying around as to where the iPhone “might” land next. Today we might finally have some insight to this debate….maybe.
This newest rumor comes to us straight from Deutsche Telekom’s chief, Rene Obermann. He talks about how T-mobile is trying to make a play at landing a deal with iPhone for late 2010 or 2011.
Obermann hinted at this, but would not detail how involved the talks were between Apple and Tmo. (When Cupertino was asked about this story, it declined comment — as it always does when it comes to the iPhone.)
Over the past couple of months, there has been a lot of speculation that the iPhone would land with Verizon Wireless first. But that means Apple would have to completely restructure the way the phone operates, as currently it relies on a SIM card for GSM networks and not CDMA networks like Sprint and Verizon.
What are your thoughts? If the iPhone lands on Tmo, are you grabbing one? Let us know in the comments!
