New Malicious Video Will Cause Any IOS Device To Freeze And Require Hard Reset

Every now and then we’ll see some bizarre bug that will cause a device to misbehave. Almost two years ago there was the infamous “effective power” bug that caused a device to infinitely reboot.

Now, there’s a certain video that will cause any iOS device to slow down to a crawl and eventually freeze it altogether.

A video from YouTuber EverythingApplePro details that its an iOS memory overload, essentially. For obvious reasons we won’t embed the video in the post, but you can trust us that it does work.

Since it likely is a memory flaw, it doesn’t pertain to a specific version of iOS. In EAP’s video, you can see him trying it on iOS versions starting from iOS 10.2 beta 3 all the way back to iOS 5.

Luckily, there seems to be no long lasting effects (yet) and if you do get tricked by the link, there’s an easy fix. Simply press the Home + power button in combination for 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo appear. On devices without a physical Home button (such as the iPhone 7), you need to press power + volume down instead.
