Trademark Filings Hint At Multiple Apple Watch Models, ‘AirPods’ Wireless Headphones, And IPhone 7

With the Apple September event now scheduled for September 7, Russian trade mark filings confirm that the new iPhone models numbers are A1778 and A1784, via mobiltelefon.ru.

Aside from the iPhone models, the filings also describe a series of Apple wearable devices, which appear to be variations of the Apple Watch 2, perhaps a revamped Apple Watch 1 with new hardware as well. It also describes ‘AirPods’, official wireless headphones that may ship with the next-generation iPhone.

The filing describes two new iPhone models, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, presumably. There are also ten different variations of the Apple Watch. Currently, the Apple Watch is split into three categories: Apple Watch Sport, Apple Watch, and Apple Watch Edition. Ten different model identifiers suggest Apple will announce more than three Apple Watch 2 flavors next week.

Lastly, and the more interesting one, is the acknowledgment of ‘AirPods’, something that has been rumored to be Apple’s brand name for its wireless headphones.

This makes sense as Apple is said to be doing away with the 3.5mm headphone jack. This means consumers will have to pick between Lightning-based or wireless headphones. This also means that this will not be a Beats product, rather Apple’s own first-party accessory.
