Today a number of images surfaced online of what appears to be the iPhone 6’s logic board. The leaks come courtesy of Sonny Dickson, who has a fairly good reputation when it comes to reporting Apple leaks. As you can see in the image above, the logic board is equipped with an NFC chip, which was also rumored by WIRED just yesterday.
If you’ve been following the technology industry over the past few years, you may recall that rumors of NFC making an appearance in iPhones have been recurring since before the release of the iPhone 5. However, with Apple’s recent announcement of HomeKit, there wouldn’t be a better time to include NFC capabilities in the iPhone.
In the two images above, you can see the leaked iPhone 6 logic board (on the right) compared to the iPhone 5S’s logic board (on the left). You’ll notice the inclusion of all the other components, including the expected A8 chip, which is rumored to be clocked at 2GHz.
These last two images show a close up of the NFC chip found on the iPhone 6 logic board.
How do you feel about NFC? Would you be excited to have that capability on your iPhone? Let us know in the comments or Tweet me @DarrenLinkNPark.
