Months after the initial rumors and subsequent confirmation of the acquisition of Beats, Apple has officially welcomed them to the fold. With a special page on their website, Apple welcomed Beats Music and Beats Electronics, proclaiming the common love that both companies have: music.
Apple’s welcome message, which can be found on its own page, is below:
Today we are excited to officially welcome Beats Music and Beats Electronics to the Apple family. Music has always held a special place in our hearts, and we’re thrilled to join forces with a group of people who love it as much as we do. Beats cofounders Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre have created beautiful products that have helped millions of people deepen their connection to music. We’re delighted to be working with the team to elevate that experience even further.
And we can’t wait to hear what’s next.
Below their message, Apple links to the Beats website, where a similar message is posted. In that message, Beats mentions the tools Apple has created that advanced the music industry: Macintosh, the iPod, the iPhone, and now the iPad. Interestingly, at the end of their message, they say:
The products we build together will allow us to reimagine sound once again and to continue this great tradition of bringing imagination to life.
With the acquisition complete and this sentence hinting at the future, what could come from this Beats acquisition? What do you think? Let us know below!
