Now is a good time to buy an older iPad

Apple is known for making high quality products that can be useful for years, long after their initial release. Their iPad line is no exception. Even iPads produced in 2011 or 2012 are still good devices, especially for those that don’t need to have the very newest gadget. Now, Apple is offering a great deal for anyone interested in an older iPad.

While Apple doesn’t often do sales on their new devices, you can typically find a good deal in the Refurbished section of Apple’s online store. Right now, Apple is offering some great discounts on older iPad models.

The iPad 2 has the biggest savings right now, with some models being discounted as much as 45%. While not equipped with a Retina display or Lightning connector, the iPad 2 is still a useful device, especially for anyone that just needs it for basic tasks such as email, photos, music, books, or web browsing.

Like their larger cousin, and sharing the same specs as the iPad 2, the first generation iPad Mini is also showing a good discount, with several models available for almost 30% off.

Meanwhile, the Third Generation iPad and iPad with Retina (Fourth Generation) are both also listed with a ‘Special Limited Time Price’, with discounts up to 40% for the third generation and 35% for the fourth.

While not technically brand new, Apple takes great care with their refurbished items:

We test and certify all Apple refurbished products and include a 1-year warranty.
All refurbished iPad models also include a brand new battery and outer shell.

If you’ve been wanting an iPad for a while, or you know someone that has but doesn’t need the newest available, now is a great time to consider a refurbished model.  Apple notes that these are in limited supply, so don’t wait too long and miss out on this great deal.

I purchased my latest retina macbook refurbished and it’s PERFECT! Only difference from a brand new one was that it didn’t come in the fancy (unnecessary) white packaging. Now considering buying a refurbished iPad…!

I’m hoping to buy my next MacBook soon, and it’ll definitely be refurbished. Better price, same great product. I’m glad you’ve had a flawless experience with it.
