Rumors keep circulating about the next iPhone. Will the screen be larger? Will one new model be delayed? Will it have a sapphire screen? Is it even coming? Apparently, according to screenshots attained from LoadTheGame.com, Amazon thinks that it is.
The iPhone 6 was supposedly posted to Amazon’s Japanese store. While it has since been taken down, the above screenshot was grabbed (and translated), showing the “information” for the next iPhone. According to the product page, this included:
- Dimensions of 130 x 65 x 7mm (5.11 x 2.56 x 0.275 inches)
- Weight of 113g (3.985 oz)
- Gold remains a colour option
- Up to 64GB memory
- 139,999 yen retail price
While not surprised about the weight and thickness, it does seem quite unlikely that Amazon has the final dimensions of the device, especially if we’re still a couple of months away from it being released.
That said, if these dimensions are accurate, it would be a very attractive device. The iPhone 5s is 123.8 x 58.6 x 7.6 mm. If Apple could get a larger screen into a device that is only slightly larger than the iPhone 5s, they could have a winning device. With the supposedly leaked specs, the device has a 5.39″ diagonal, but this includes the bezel around the display. Could Apple have a 4.7″ screen in there? It’s possible.
The fact that this page went up on Amazon at all shows that this could be a leak of credible information. Some of the page does seem different from the leaks we have seen so far. For instance, the picture of the device doesn’t show the bands that we’ve come to see with other supposed frame leaks. In fact, the image used appears to be an early iPhone 6 concept from MacRumors.
