Over the weekend, US retail giant Wal-mart cut the prices of both the iPhone 5s and the 5c.
The 16GB base models both received significant price reductions, so the iPhone 5s will now only set you back $99 when bought with a two year contract. Likewise, the iPhone 5c will now only cost $29 for the 16GB version, again when bought with a two year contract from AT&T, Verizon or Sprint. The move is certainly a reaction to the impending release of the iPhone 6, and as such we see similar reductions every year. However, that doesn’t mean that this is a great opportunity to grab one of Apple’s fantastic phones for a good deal less than the standard retail price. Of course, we can’t all keep up to date with Apple’s yearly product release cycle, and the timing of many upgrades and contracts will certainly mean that this is an opportune bargain for those searching for a new phone in the coming days.
On the offer itself, the deal doesn’t apply to any prepaid phones, and you must make the purchase in a brick-and-mortar store, because the offer doesn’t apply online. If you’re looking for a new phone, but you don’t want to wait for the iPhone 6, or you’re sure it will be too expensive, then you’ll struggle to find a $29 iPhone 5s or 5c any cheaper. Grabbing either of these devices now could make it difficult to upgrade to the iPhone that follows the 6, but of course, that’s our choice to make.
To take advantage of this deal, head over to Wal-Mart now! Or, if you’re not taking advantage of this deal, let us know why in the comments below!
