When you are on-the-go all the time, it’s convenient to have tech gadgets that will make traveling easier. There are a lot of great travel tech accessories out there, but over the past few months, I have gathered up some of my favorite gadgets and thought I would share them with you guys. Some of these items you have probably heard of before, but some of them you may not have. So, here it goes…
Inateck BP1001W portable Bluetooth speaker
When you are preparing for a trip and you need an extra-portable speaker, you can’t go wrong with this Bluetooth speaker made by Inateck. The sound quality of this speaker is incredible.
Recently, I reviewed another speaker (also made by Inateck) and the sound quality of this speaker is equally impressive. The volume gets pretty loud for a speaker of this size and even when the speaker is up to its loudest volume, there is no distortion in the quality of the sound at all.
Currently this particular speaker runs for $16.99 in the US and is available in either black or white. The speaker itself comes with an audio cable so you can hook the speaker up to a computer (instead of using Bluetooth) and it also comes with a USB to Micro-USB charger.
If you’re looking for a great fitness tracker, the Fitbit Flex may be for you. The Fitbit Flex not only tracks your steps taken, miles walked, and calories burned, it also tracks your sleep as well. It has a great companion app for iOS devices that syncs up automatically with your Fitbit and stores your fitness data and allows you to set goals and log what you’ve eaten. In addition to being able to track your sleep, the Fitbit Flex also features a silent alarm that vibrates to wake you at whatever time you set.
The Fitbit Flex runs for $99.95 in the US and is available in a wide variety of colors. The Fitbit Flex also has LED indicators to let you know how close (or far) you are to your desired goal and it also comes with a USB charger to charge the device.
Lenmar Meridian iPhone 5/5s case
The Meridian iPhone 5/5s case made by Lenmar has a super sleek design and is perfect for frequent travelers who aren’t always connected to a wall outlet. The Meridian case has a built-in 2,300 mAh battery, which allows users to gain 100% more power. The Meridian case includes LED light indicators to show the charge status of the case and comes in four colors: black, white, red, and gold.
The Meridian case comes in at $89.99 in the US and is safe for any type of airplane travel. Another really cool feature is that this case has an internal safety gauge to protect the device from overcharging. The Meridian case is the perfect companion for those frequent travelers who just need a little extra battery life.
Inateck UC4001 4-port 30W USB travel wall charger
Sometimes having multiple charging bricks is a pain in the… well you know, especially if there are limited outlets. Having a 4-port USB travel wall charger is every traveler’s dream since it packs in 4 USB ports in one device for extreme portability. So, to say the least, the Inateck 4-port USB travel wall charger is a great device and comes in handy at home or on the road.
As stated, it has four USB ports. The top two are 2,400 mAh and the lower ones are 1,000 mAh. This came quite in handy on a recent trip I took when I needed to charge an iPad and two mobile phones and there was only one wall outlet available in the hotel. This 4-port USB wall charger comes in at $15.99 in the US, so the price is fairly reasonable.
LifeProof nüüd iPhone 5/5s case
I’ll be the first to admit that I have always been skeptical of purchasing a LifeProof case, but I’m so glad I got the nüüd. I think what turned me off was the plastic film covering the screen of the frē. But now, with the nüüd, the thick, plastic film is gone! The screenless technology is amazing since you actually get to touch the iPhone’s screen, which as we all know is a highlight of having an iPhone in the first place. However, if you want to put one of those flimsy scratch protectors on your iPhone, LifeProof includes one in the box.
Another thing to note is that this case allows you to use Touch ID. Now granted, it may not work 100% of the time, but I’ve found that it works probably 95% of the time, at least. This may be a turn off for you, but for me it’s not really a big deal.
Of course this case is also 100% waterproof as it has a seal around the edges to make sure no water passes through. It passed my initial test and held up just fine with my iPhone installed. So, for all of you who are skeptical about purchasing the nüüd, have no fear.
The LifeProof nüüd comes in at $89.99 in the US and also comes in four color options.
The Bluelounge Kii is the perfect accessory for frequent travelers as it is always with you wherever you go and fits right on your keychain. It has a Lightening connector on one side and the other side has a USB connector, to plug directly into your laptop or another USB source. It comes in handy anytime you may need to charge your iPhone on-the-go.
The Bluelounge Kii is $39.95 in the US and comes in two color options: black and white. Also, instead of getting a Lightening connector, you can get either a 30-pin connector (only in black) or a Micro-USB connector. For me, the Kii has come in handy while on the road and when I forget to carry my wall charger. The thing I like more than anything about the Kii (besides the design) is that it is always with me wherever I go.
Kanex GoPower Pack
There are several battery packs out there that are great, but my current favorite and the one I use is the Kanex GoPower Pack. The GoPower Pack uses a Lithium-ion battery and is available in 2 sizes. The 6,000 mAh battery can deliver up to two full charges and the 11,000 mAh battery can deliver up to four full charges to your device. This battery pack also allows you to charge two devices simultaneously, which comes in handy if you have an iPhone and an iPad, for example. The GoPower Pack also features LED indicators to inform you of the power level of your battery pack.
The GoPower Pack is $49.95 in the US for the 6,000 mAh battery and is $69.95 for the 11,000 mAh battery. My favorite feature of the GoPower Pack that other battery packs don’t have is a slide-out stand that props up your phone so you can watch a movie while charging. Overall, this battery pack is great for anyone needing that extra battery life to make it throughout the day.
