Many have speculated that Apple will release a split-screen mode for the iPad in iOS 8. This feature was expected to make its appearance at WWDC last week; however, it was not announced. Code references to the much-rumored feature have been found across the iOS 8 Software Development Kit.
Developer Steven Troughton-Smith started digging deeper into the split-screen multitasking feature. This feature is shown off in the iOS simulator on Mac, hence the mouse cursor and awkward two-finger gestures. It is unclear if the two-finger gesture will be the control for the final product, but that is the control Apple is apparently testing, as of now.
iOS 8 will be released sometime this fall, but the release of the split-screen multitasking feature is not known and has not even been confirmed by Apple. The feature may be released with iOS 8.1, instead.
What do you guys think? Will this be something you will use to make your iOS experience better? Do you guys think it will be released with later versions of iOS 8 or with the initial version?
