Apple is reportedly set to release both a 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 in the fall. While most of the leaks, dummy models and case designs have centred around the 4.7-inch model, new images have emerged today purporting to show the larger 5.5-inch iPhone 6’s display part.
Serial leaker Sonny Dickson provided 9to5Mac with a pair of photos claiming to show the new iPhone 6’s LCD display component. As seen in the pictures above, the display measures around 14cm diagonally, which works out just slightly larger than 5.5-inches.
From Mark Gurman’s report:
While these photos do not provide us with any breakthrough information about the new iPhone, the photos, at best, do show that Apple is already producing components for the larger sized phone and this means that production is likely nearing. Several reports have indicated that the 5.5-inch model will be in short supply upon launch and that the phone may even be released multiple weeks following the 4.7-inch version…
Based on what we’ve heard so far about Apple’s next generation iPhones, we are expecting two screen sizes, a much thinner body, relocated home button and similar color choices to the current iPhone 5s. We’re also expecting the new phones to have sapphire crystal display coverings, Touch ID and redesigned camera hardware.
The iPhone 6 will likely be revealed officially in September and will ship alongside Apple’s new mobile operating system, iOS 8.
