Rumors about the iWatch have been going strong now for the past year, and it looks like, if this latest rumor is true, the rumors could be getting close to coming to an end. We’ve been hearing rumors about the specs of the device, possible designs, and other rumors for quite some time now, but the latest rumor is claiming that the iWatch is finally in production to prepare for a launch this fall.
This latest rumor comes from sources that have been informing China Times:
According to supply chain sources cited by the Chinese media, Apple has already started producing the iWatch in small quantities. The smartwatch will allegedly be ready for launch in the second half of 2014, but more importantly, these fresh reports also claim that the iWatch will be built using SiPs (or system-in-package modules) as opposed to traditional PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards).
Although this is certainly far from official, it is not much of a surprise for these types of rumors to be heating up as we get closer to a rumored launch date. Since the device is rumored to be launching soon, it wouldn’t seem too far fetched to begin hearing reports of the device’s manufacturing process starting, espeically if the target is a fall launch, possibly around the same time as the expected iPhone 6 launch date.
At this point, I’m really hoping that the device is launched sooner rather than later, because if the iWatch is real, it will finally end all speculation about the device, and we can stop wondering just what the device will look like. Do you expect to see the iWatch coming later this year, or do you think this could be a device that Apple never ends up launching? Let us know by dropping a comment below!
