We’ve heard about developments surrounding an Apple Retail Store in Istanbul, Turkey for months and now the store opening is official: Apple’s first Turkish Retail store will open on April 5th. The announcement came in the form of an email to Turkish customers and the new banner surrounding the store location at the Zorlu Center mall in Istanbul.
Apple has also updated its retail website with details of the store opening and the events and classes that will be held at the store. The grand opening will be at 10AM local time on April 5th.
The Turkey-based store will feature much of what you’d expect from any other Apple Store, such as One to One training and the Joint Venture service, according to the retail page. The store itself will have some unique features according to employees including a pair of Genius Bars, two full floors to hold stock of product, a dedicated “Family Room” floor, and a sales floor.
Apple CEO Tim Cook recently met with the Turkish president about research and development plans and are both rumored to be in attendance at the store opening in April. Apple are also said to be planning a second retail store in the country.
