VLC app update: iOS 7 makeover, Dropbox and Google Drive streaming, more

VLCPopular cross-platform media-player VLC has been updated with a new UI and a bunch of new features in version 2.2.

Most notably, you’ll see a complete redesign of the app’s interface so that it now fits right in with iOS 7’s visual aesthetic. The latest version also includes a number of new MultiTouch gestures for easier navigation.

As well as a visual refresh, VLC has been given a number of new features and improvements including the ability to stream media stored in popular cloud storage services Dropbox and Google Drive. The developers have also expanded support for some new streaming formats and protocols, enhanced UPnP integration and downloading support, a rewritten WiFi upload plus improved privacy when using Passcode Lock.
