Pebble is the king of Kickstarter projects. It went from a small independent project to the most talked about piece of wearable tech of 2013 after getting over $10 million in funding from the crowd-sourcing website. After just under a year on the market, Pebble is the most popular smart watch around, and something tells me it won’t need to raise money to launch its next product. A device which could (and hopefully will) make its appearance at CES next week.
In a post on its blog, Pebble announced yesterday that “something special” will be announced at CES on Monday, January 6th. While we don’t know exactly what it is, it’s expected that it’ll be the sequel to the original Pebble. As to what a “Pebble 2” will feature, we can only guess. Although the post does mention Eric being “color-correct” this year, I don’t think we’ll see a color screen just yet. This almost certainly references last year’s video stream where Eric’s skin tone showed up as Smurf-blue for some reason.
The Pebble announcement is slated to take place on Monday, Jan 6 at 11am Pacific Time (2pm Eastern/9pm GMT). You can watch the live stream here when it’s live.
