Tweetbot 3, one of our favorite Twitter clients for iPhone, has been given a small update that brings with it support for Twitter’s new Direct Message image sharing feature. DM images were added to the official Twitter app a few weeks ago, but Tweetbot 3 is the first third-party application to implement the new feature.
Unfortunately, you can only view images sent via Twitter Direct Messages for now – Twitter won’t allow third-party apps to send DM images yet. But the ability to at least view these images is testament to the hard work of Tweetbot’s developers and shows their commitment to creating one of the best Twitter apps on the App Store.
Here are the full release notes:
What’s New in Version 3.2.1
- Added support for viewing images in Direct Messages. Sending images in Direct Messages is not yet supported by the Twitter public API.
- Various bug fixes
If you don’t already own Tweetbot 3, I would highly recommend spending $4.99 on the app. I use it every day and it is worth every cent. If you do already own the app, the update is free. Check out Tweetbot 3 on the App Store now.
