As was announced yesterday, Apple released its breakthrough new Mac Pro today. Cupertino caught us all off-guard in June when it announced the brand new cylindrical design. It was a massive change in direction from the big, bulky and square boxes of previous years. Today, the Mac Pro is finally available to purchase. Prices start from $2,999 in the US, or £2,499 in the UK.
The base model features a quad-core 3.7GHz Intel Xeon E5 processor, 12GB RAM, Dual AMD FirePro D300 with 2GB RAM each and 256GB of flash storage. Not bad specs for the lowest model. Like all Mac Pro’s before it, each component is upgradeable. With each fully upgraded, the most you’ll pay for a Mac Pro is $9,599. That’s with a 12-core processor, 64GB RAM, 1TB storage and a 6GB VRAM graphics card. You can – of course – add a 4K Sharp display for $3.5k, if you so desire, but there are much cheaper options out there.
