Apple’s 12 Days of Gifts offers Tiny Thief in US, Episode 1 of “Africa” in UK

Screen Shot 2013-12-27 at 3.36.38 PMIt’s day 2 in Apple’s “12 Days of Gifts”, and the surprise inside seems to be regional today. In the US, upon opening the app you’ll find Tiny Thief, one of Rovio’s creations, available for free. The thing is, Rovio actually recently dropped the price of this from $2.99 to free, so, you can get it for free anyway if you wish. In the UK, however, you get the first episode of “Africa” for free. Many reported that upon opening the 12 Days of Gifts however, that it will show a £/€12.99 purchase. You will need to go to episode 1’s page in order to get that for free.

I recommend you download the 12 Days of Gifts application through the App Store (if you’re in a supported country), that way you can get Apple’s free gift of the day through January 6th. If you don’t already have it, the app is available here for free: 12 Days of Gifts. Yesterday the free download was Justin Timberlake’s iTunes Festival performances, and of course there will be another random download tomorrow. Keep checking in to see what the next download will be.

What do you think? Glad Apple does this? Wonder what will come next? Let us know in the comments, or tweet me @TiP_Kyle.

This is weird. When I first checked the app early this morning, it gave me the first episode of Once Upon A Time as today’s gift. Now it shows Tiny Thief. Anyone else experience this?

WilliamCron I had the same thing happen to me as well. I first declined to download the show episode because I had no clue what it is, I later got the game when it showed up.
