With Apple’s iPhone 5s came a brand new camera feature for iPhone, slow motion video capture. Recording at 120 fps is an awesome feature, and can make for some really interesting results. Sadly, it’s only available on the iPhone 5s.
Now however, SlowCam for iOS brings slow motion recording to all iOS devices running iOS 7.
The app is remarkably simple, opening it brings up your viewfinder, there are buttons for your zoom, video lighting and record, and a button with a snail on it…
Holding down the Blue Button, or tapping it if you change the settings, will begin slow motion recording. Tapping, or letting go will return the recording to normal speed.
Zooming on the iPhone 5, 5c and 5s is up to 5x. There’s also a fantastic feature that lets you set the focus and exposure, either separately or together, simply by tapping the screen and then dragging the targets. Filming can switch between slow motion and normal speed numerous times in the same video. Once you’ve finished recording, the video is rendered straight to your camera roll, so it can be shared through all the usual outlets!
SlowCam is available universally on iOS 7 for $1.99! App Store
