Just last week, T-Mobile CEO John Legere tweeted that he was excited about Apple’s October 22nd event, and at the time, all signs pointed to T-Mobile getting the iPad. While that prediction was correct (no big surprise there), Legere kept the fun going today. Legere tweeted that he was excited that T-Mobile would be carrying the new iPads, and also hinted at a new surprise when his latest tweet included “I’ve got an idea on how to make it #uncarrier.” At the time, it was unclear exactly what Legere was suggesting, but as the Apple Store has been relaunched, we now know what Legere meant.
According to the Apple Store online, the new T-Mobile enabled iPads not only have the option to purchase data plans monthly, but every iPad for the carrier also will come with 200MB of free data per month. While this isn’t a ton of data, it’s perfect for users (like me) that are usually on WiFi, but go out of range sometimes, and want to keep connectivity for free. If I were in the market for a new iPad, this would certainly be a factor in my decision on which device to buy.
Does this new data plan influence your decision on which carrier to use if you buy a new iPad? Leave your comments below or tweet me @TiP_Griffin.
