According to 9to5Mac, Apple Stores and resellers around the world have begun receiving stocks of the soon to be released iPad Air. Readers of the site have sent in pictures showing iPad Air stock at Walmart stores with clearly labelled boxes as seen below.
Apple Stores in the US are also said to be in receipt of around 500-1000 units of the iPad Air suggesting that there should be enough stock of the tablet to go around when it launches this Friday with more stock expected in the next couple of weeks. It is a similar story for Apple Stores internationally and with resellers meaning that those wanting to get their hands on an iPad Air should not struggle.
Compared to the launch of the iPhone 5s, where many people were unable to get the color or configuration of choice on launch day (or weeks afterwards), it seems like the iPad Air supply will not be constrained.
The iPad Air is a significant upgrade to its predecessor with its all new design making it thinner and lighter than ever before and the new 64-bit A7 chip bringing desktop class processing power to a portable device.
Apple will also release the new Retina iPad mini later in November which packs all of the processing power of the iPad Air into a smaller form factor – the only differentiators being the screen size and the price. The Retina mini stock is likely to be constrained going into the Holiday season, however, something worth considering if you want to get a hold of the device before Christmas.
Will you be buying an iPad Air on launch day? Or will you be holding out for the Retina iPad mini later in the month?
