A deal between Apple and China Mobile has not yet been officially confirmed but we’ve been expecting the new iPhones to make their way onto the network since their launch in September.
Now it seems some China Mobile stores have jumped the gun and started displaying their iPhone 5c and 5s posters early, as shown in the image from micro-blogging site Weibo above.
While the posters above do not display a release date, it is thought that the new iPhones could go on sale at the same time as China Mobile launches its new 4G TD-LTE network which is set to launch between November 9 and November 11.
The ad above for the new 4G network displays some generic looking iPhone-type devices which may or may not be a hint at the impending launch.
Either way, Apple devices have proven incredibly popular in China. China Mobile is the world’s largest mobile phone operator and would give over 740 million wireless subscribers the chance to own an iPhone – certainly an interesting prospect for Apple.
The new iPhones have already gained the necessary regulatory approval in the country and China Mobile CEO has been open about ongoing negotiations with Apple. I guess it’s just a matter of time until the iPhone goes on sale on the network. I’m sure it will be extremely popular.
