If you head on over to T-Mobile US’ registration pages for the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c you’ll notice that there’s some pricing information on display. And, while pricing hasn’t exactly been hidden, it does show that T-Mobile is undercutting its rival carriers by a substantial margin.
The iPhone 5c shows up as $0 down payment with 24 monthly payments of $22 per month on top of the usual plan, whereas the iPhone 5s is $99 with the same monthly charges. Of course, on AT&T, Verizon and Sprint the 5c will be $99 and the 5s, $199 for the lowest storage capacity models. A full $100 more expensive than T-Mobile.
Now, while it’s unlikely for Tmo to make this information available without it being true, David Beren over at Tmonews.com does advise us to err on the side of caution. The magenta carrier has been known to announce pricing information on pre-registration pages in the past, and then change it once the device is released. It’s also worth noting that similarly discounted pricing was available when the iPhone 5 first launched on T-Mobile earlier this year, only for it to be hiked up after a few months.
Will any of you AT&T or VZW be switching for T-Mobile this year?
