PayPal for iOS gets redesign with in-store payment option

PayPal has redesigned its iOS app.

The update, expected for release on iPhone later today, features a brand new user interface, based around a cleaner, flatter design. The app now features 5 simple sections, Shop, Wallet, Settings, Activity and Transfer.

The Shop section is a brand new feature which allows you to locate local stores or restaurants that allow payment via PayPal. Once you’ve found somewhere suitable, the new PayPal app allows you to pay on the go, or from your table. It even has a feature which allows you to order ahead at some food outlets. It will also allow you to take advantage of local offers. The Shop section also features support for multiple debit and credit accounts, allowing you to choose your method of payment and switch between them as you wish.

Wallet allows you to manage your PayPal balance, along with your bank account, and your various Debit/Credit cards, bringing them all under one app.

Activity gives you all your information about previous transactions, and transfer allows you to send and receive money, even from people without PayPal.

All of these features look absolutely fantastic, and should bring PayPal’s app some revolutionary functionality, which means we may not even have to carry plastic around one day.

PayPal is available for free from the App Store, however the updated version hasn’t yet been released!
