As many of you should already be well aware, the iPhone 5s launches this Friday on all major US carriers (and others around the world). To get this device into as many hands as possible, as quickly as they can, the carriers are all set to open their doors at 8am sharp this coming Friday morning. Apple did a non-Apple like thing this year and did not offer preorders on the iPhone 5s, only offering them for the iPhone 5c (which you can still order, as many haven’t sold out as of yet). Apple Stores set the bar for the 8am opening, with all the other carriers following suit.
These aren’t the only places you will be able to buy an iPhone 5s or 5c on launch day, however, as Walmart and Radio Shack will each be carrying the device on launch day as well. Walmart has a track record for selling the device starting right at midnight, so don’t be surprised if that happens again, seeing as those stores are staffed 24 hours. If you don’t like the idea of waiting in lines though, you can order the iPhone 5s starting at 12:01am on September 20th. Either way, these devices are sure to be selling like hot cakes.
I am personally planning on picking up a white 5s, and have yet to decide whether I will be waiting in line or ordering from the comfort of my apartment. The iPhone 5s offers what to me seems to be the best “S” upgrade we’ve seen yet, plus my inner tech geek just can’t stand to sit on the sidelines of this sort of event. Be sure to keep it locked to the site on launch day, as well will have plenty of coverage of both the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c for you all to soak in and decide which device is right for you.
What do you think? Are you picking up and iPhone 5s or 5c? Which one and why? Let us know in the comments, or tweet me @TiP_Kyle.
