Apple has announced that its two brand new iPhones, the 5c and the 5s, will be available on US regional carriers from October 1.
The news is interesting because of the nationwide shortage of iPhone 5s devices currently plaguing America. The iPhone 5s and 5c will be available on the following regional carriers:
Cellcom – Michigan and Wisconsin
C Spire Wireless – Mississippi, Tennessee, Florida, Alabama, Georgia
Nex-Tech Wireless – Kansas and Colorado
MTA – Alaska
GCI – Alaska
Bluegrass Cellular – Kentucky
Appalachian Wireless – Kentucky and Virginia
Ntelos – Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, Kentucky, North Carolina – Consumers here will be able to buy the phone on contract for just $149.99, $50 less than standard contract prices.
A regional carrier release is excellent news for all those seeking the device in US who’ve been met with disappointment because of the shortage across major carriers. However, it remains to be seen just how well stocked the regional carriers will be when it comes to release day at the beginning of next month.
