Gold & Co London, a company well known for transforming our favorite smartphones in to objects of true luxury is at it again. This time, it’s altered some iPhone 5s units with its usual touch of gold. On show later this week at the Emirates Palace Hotel, Abu Dhabi at this year’s World Luxury Expo are 24 karat rose gold, platinum and gold versions of Apple’s latest iPhone.
On Friday the company will be unveiling their new devices to the public and you can bet they will not be cheap. Unlike Apple’s gold colored iPhone 5s, these are the real deal and last year’s iPhone 5 given the same treatment cost upwards of $5,000. And – of course – they’re very limited edition.
Although I can’t personally think of anyone I know who’d be willing to stump up $5,000 for a phone, the World Luxury Expo attracts some of the Middle East’s richest people, who know a thing or two about making their wealth show. Paying for a device in such short supply would seem a healthy investment, especially considering it’s going to hold its value very well.
Question is, even if you had this sort of disposable income, would you spend it on a gold iPhone?
