Twitter #music updated with new discovery and library scanning features

Twitter MusicTwitter’s “Twitter #music” app has just been updated to version 1.2, and has brought with it a few new features, including that will allow it to scan your music library to offer more personalized suggestions. Another thing added was localizations for a ton of new places, (12 according tot eh change log). Here is the full change log:

What’s New in Version 1.2

We’ve added a bunch of new ways of discovering music. Listen to artist’s top tracks, similar artists, and the artists that your favorite artist follows on Twitter.

We also scan your iPhone’s music library now to suggest more relevant artists to you. And we show you the artists that you’ve Tweeted about so you can always get back to them.

Finally, we’ve localized #music into all of your favorite languages. If you’re one of those good looking people living in Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, or Switzerland then we’ve got you covered!

As you can see there are also a lot of new ways to discover new music, including the ability to listen to artist’s top tracks and find similar artists. The coolest new feature is that Twitter #music will now scan your iPhone’s (or iPad’s or iPod’s) music library in order to suggest more relevant music to your tastes. If you are interested in downloading #music, you can get the app here: Twitter #music.

I just installed this app on my iPhone 5, and its actually pretty cool.  It does seem to be a good way to find new music, and you can listen to the 90 second preview right away (or the whole thing if you have Spotify or Rdio).
