If you remember a few weeks ago, there was a rumor floating around about a Sony made “smart lens” that would be coming, and would support the iPhone (and iOS in general). Well, according to a new rumor that is making the rounds, this same accessory is now supposedly going to be coming in a champagne and white color…I can only imagine why. Following rumor after rumor of the iPhone 5S coming in a new champagne color, this rumor surfaced about a possible champagne colored lens. Well, since Sony is holding an event on September 4th, where this is rumored to be announced, this option may have been decided on as a “just in case” option. Keeping the white on it would make it look good with either a white or champagne colored device.
Sony, as I said, will be holding an event on September 4th at IFA in Berlin. You can be sure that if something like this is announced, we will be on it. What the device is said to do is connect to your device (iOS or Android) via Bluetooth, and giving you complete control over the camera through an application that will be available on the respective application stores. The camera attachment is said to be 18MP sensor with optical zoom, which would be a significant upgrade over any smartphone camera. If you are someone that loves to take pictures on your phone, this may be just the device for you. You can see a few more image below. As much as I like this idea, the attachment is said to cost around $300-400.
What do you think? Are you interested in this device? Would you use it enough to warrant a price like that? Let us know in the comments, or tweet me @TiP_Kyle.
