Microsoft decides to go after iPad mini in latest ad

Microsoft has been on this ad campaign of finding different things Windows 8 tablets do that iPads do not. Well, those have consisted only of the iPad so far, but now Microsoft is going after the iPad mini in the latest ad (above). The ad shows the Acer Iconia W3, an 8.1 inch tablet running Windows 8. It shows how the Windows 8 tablet can play Halo, run the full Office suite, and other miscellaneous things I would never want a tablet to do, anyways. Especially one with only a screen measuring 8.1 inches.

Personally I just find these ads to be quite stupid. Keep in mind this is simply my own opinion, but who wants to run a full desktop operating system on a tablet? Let alone one as small as 8 inches? That’s not really what tablets are for, at least from my perspective. They are for less intensive tasks. If I really wanted to edit a Word document on the go (but why would I, I use Pages), I would pull out my MacBook Air. You know. An actual computer. But I may be alone in that thought, who knows.

What do you think? Do you think these ads are effective? Let us know in the comments, or tweet me @TiP_Kyle.
